# How recommendations are handled
The possibility of earning a commission does not change the criteria used to discuss a product. Recommendations are research-based and consider suitability for hamsters, practical features, manufacturer specifications, available welfare guidance, publicly available customer feedback, and value. Hamster Corner does not currently purchase or personally test the products it reviews, and does not present these articles as hands-on reviews. An affiliate relationship is not a guarantee that a product is right for every hamster or owner.
